Is there a darker side to Darwinism?

One of the characteristics of being a good scientist is to be able to critically review evidence as it is presented. This does mean that occasionally well established beliefs are challenged and opinion may change as a result of the new evidence.

An article appeared this weekend in the Sunday Times Magazine with the title "Children of the Evolution". The article examines the darker side of Darwinism when applied to the human race as a species. Are some humans more superior than others? Should natural selection  and elimination of the weaker species in a population apply to people? These aspects of the teachings of Charles Darwin have no place in a taught A level syllabus. The article gave me much food for thought. This is a good example of reading around your syllabus and then drawing your own conclusions based both on knowledge and personal viewpoint of a particular subject.

I have a copy of the magazine if anyone wishes to borrow it.
